Job Description:
Pensacola, Florida (60,000), a thriving waterfront and historic community, seeks a dynamic and creative person to communicate and market the initiatives and mission of the City of Pensacola. This position is responsible for managing and directing the City’s internal and external communications. The Communications Administrator supervises public relations staff, creates communication strategies, and may serve as the key spokesperson and media contact for the organization. This position requires excellent writing skills, including experiences in writing press releases, annual reports, articles, and speeches. Handles sensitive and confidential information as part of the Mayor’s senior leadership team.
This position will remain open until filled.
Requires:
Bachelor's Degree in, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in media, public relations, journalism, marketing, or public administration, one (1) of which was in a supervisory capacity. This position reports directly to the Mayor.
